Try the Wilson TRINITI - a better tennis ball for the planet

Save money while helping to reduce the 400 million tennis balls and 125 million plastic cans that end up in landfills every year.

They have 100% sustainable packaging and maintain a fresh-ball feel x 4 times longer.

Clarifying a common misconception: Triniti is a PRESSURIZED ball, approved by both the USTA and ITF

The windbreakers broke - What to do with the old ones?

The city, Summit Boosters and STA are funding the replacement of windscreens at the Memorial filed courts. How can the 4,500 square foot of the old material be disposed off in an environmentally friendly way?

Recycle Balls

Use the bins available at Tatlock, Memorial and the Summit Tennis Club to recycle used balls. They are collected by https://www.recycleballs.org/ to extract the rubber and reuse it for tennis court surfaces, ground cover, signs, T-shirts and shoes.

Other Sustainable Tennis Suggestions

Rent your racket if you don't play too frequently

Buy an used racket instead of a new one

Buy sustainable shoes/clothes

Donate your old rackets and shoes (in reasonable shape)

Use NATURAL GUT for your strings. It's a byproduct of the meat industry 100% disposable

Sustainable Tennis - a joint initiative in Summit NJ for a better planet.

Help the planet while having fun!

This idea resulted from an alliance among the Recycling Advisory Committee, the Summit Tennis Association, and The Summit Conservancy. It promotes:

• Using the new Wilson Triniti balls
• Recycling used balls in the receptacles available at Tatlock and Memorial courts.
• Identifying uses or disposable alternatives for the windscreens that will be replaced this year.

• Renting or buying used rackets instead of getting new ones. Using natural gut for strings.

• Other suggestions for shoes/ clothing/ etc.

This initiative may be expanded later to a Sustainable Sports site for the community.
